What is a European Citizens' Initiative?

A European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) demands that the European Commission propose legislation on matters for which the EU has competencies. An ECI must be signed by at least one million EU citizens with minimum thresholds reached in at least seven member states.

To take part in an ECI, signatories must enter their address details, date and place of birth, and also ID numbers (in some countries).

The Ban Glyphosate ECI

Ban glyphosate and protect people and the environment from toxic pesticides

We call on the European Commission to propose to Member States a ban on glyphosate, to reform the pesticide approval procedure, and to set EU-wide mandatory reduction targets for pesticide use.
